how good is Combat Rock by Sleater-Kinney
vocals:The Slits etc. music: Elvis Costello covering Kraftwerk's The Model, plus total Clash attitude.

Midnight Oil are actually pretty f**king decent! US Forces is a great track - musically and lyrically. Shame that Beds Are Burning is the (eta: only) song of theirs that I've heard get played - great politics - (eta2: but) not much of an enjoyable listen.

now playing: Chumbawamba - Jacob's Ladder

"9/11 Got Branded, 9/11 got sold"

samples a version of the folk standard Anji (Davy Graham)

it was hearing this on a relatively mainstream corperate owned online radio station (and wanting a permament copy of Billy Bragg's - The Price Of Oil after downloading it) that made me buy this cd.
